If you really commit to succeeding you will commit to writing a plan down to better pursue your goals. Having a dream is awesome; that's where it begins; but eventually, unless you always want to be just a dreamer, you have to create an action plan to make that dream become a reality. Some people (free spirits) are not natural planners like the people who do naturally plan (nerds).
I remember before I started writing things down I used to always say, I'll get to it someday. But if you never set a specific day, then “someday”, will never become, “today”!
Something magical happens when you write things down. You can see things much more clearly; you have something to refer back to; and you have something you can use as a reminder to get things done.
In “The Secret”, the author encourages people to create a vision board. I believe seeing truly is believing. It somehow triggers the universe to slowly start moving the things you desire closer to you. These are YOUR goals.
Start to write down a plan to achieve these goals. Where are you now? Where do you want to be? How do you plan to get there? Who do you know who is already there who can point you in the right direction? What education do you need? Asking the right questions is the first step in making a plan. A plan also discusses strategy. What will you first? Second? Third? You need a plan of attack.
When making my new album I made a plan of where I want to recorded, what personnel I needed , and when I needed to do it; How I was going to pay for it, and ultimately why I was doing it.
I started recording in MD. I recorded it in a church. I worked with several musicians and engineers. I saved money from my bonuses to pay for it; and I'm doing this to finish cataloging my previously written songs.
This album is actually part of bigger plan I started a few years ago. It is album 3 of 10; but I would never have gotten this far without a written down a solid , well-thought out plan first.
With working out or clean eating I have a written plan. When going grocery shopping or driving to a new place I write down a plan. This is how you become definitive. Otherwise you won’t know where you're going or when you will get there. If you are driving, have no map, and don't have a plan; unless you are joy riding it will be a nightmare. You may never reach your final destination this way.
By writing down a plan I was able to turn “someday” into “today.” Don't you want your dream to become a reality? Start writing it down; then let the magic happen.
