I read a very sad article in "The Augernaut" this week, that profiled a woman , who had been paralyzed due to a drunk driver, who overcame her disability and became and Olympian, who was recently robbed of her vintage Olympic footage and her medals during a home invasion.
I know that God never gives you more than you can take , but enough is enough. A person who was already robbed of her legs, to be able to win the Olympics while paralyzed, to be later robbed of her medals, is beyond tragic.
The people that robbed them knew that they were paralyzed as they would have send handicapped equipment through out the house.
Being handicapped is hard enough; I'm so saddened that we live in a world were people feel entitled, they want things but they don't want to work for them, and people want to hurt other people because they too are hurting and they don't care about anyone else but themselves.
Sadly the assailants were black, which adds to my frustration. We live in a fallen world. These people make me ashamed. When you see these stories you understand why racism still exists, why being a black male in the US is still difficult, and how people perpetuate the stereotypes.
I hope this lady gets justice and gains her stuff back. I don't know what the punishment should be for these burglars , but I know that jail is not the answer. Jail does not rehabilitate people. When you lock them in cages , they come out animals. We need reform in all sectors of our lives, until we fix America. Whatever presidential candidate wants to do that is who I will vote for. It's a dirty job! Get ready to roll up your sleeves. Love is always the answer.
To end today, I later saw a "free hug" video posted online , showing the Trump and Sanders camps and it was interesting what voters were showing love and showing hate. People want to blame others for their problems and hard lives, because they don't have to take responsibility for why they have done or didn't do. It's time for me to unplug. I need a break from this. It just depresses me.
